James J. Wackerly age 86 of St. Louis, Michigan died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.
Private Services will be held at Roselawn Mausoleum Saginaw, Michigan with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2006 from 9-1 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
James was born in Auburn, Michigan on May 6, 1920 the son of Ralph and Julia ( Kifmiller ) Wackerly. He resided most of his life in in Saginaw, Kaleva, and then St. Louis 12 years ago. He attended Auburn Schools. James married Marjorie H. Block on June 8, 1942, she died on January 30, 2004. James retired from Michigan Bell after many years of service. He loved to fish and was a "jack of all trades" when it came to helping people. He was also a wonderful father, grandfather, and neighbor. James also served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughter Jean & Ron Gorney of Elwell, MI, 2 grandchildren; Ronda Gorney of Alma, MI, and James Gorney of Elwell, MI, 1 great granddaughter Sloan Marjorie Salchert, sister Arleen Rood, and 2 brothers; Ralph & Agnes Wackerly, and Donald Wackerly. He is predeceased by his parents, wife and 9 siblings.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot Area Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
