Jane "Janie" Latham

Jane Alice "Janie" Latham, age 55, of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center, Detroit, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with Mr. Henry Kubin, Sr. officiating. Private Family burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Jane was born in Alma, Michigan on June 16, 1960, the daughter of Thomas and Mary  (Foley)  Billig.  She resided most of her life in Eaton Rapids, MI.  Jane married Ray Latham on December 7, 1985 in Holland, MI.

Caring for her family was the most important part of Jane's life.  She loved to garden and care for her pets.  Jane was an accomplished florist and musician.  She was described as a kind and gentle soul and often said "you should never judge an individual by a single act".

She is survived by her husband Ray Latham of Eaton Rapids, MI, sons; Daniel and Kristina Latham of Holt, MI, Joe Latham of Eaton Rapids, MI, sister Peggy Billig and Gary Tuma of Lansing, MI, brother Patrick Billig of White Cloud, MI, sister Winnie and George Kubin of St. Louis, MI, sister Linda and Jeff Allen of Midland, MI, brother Joe and Donna Billig of Mason, MI, brother Jim and Julie Billig of Windermere, FL, father and mother-in-law Ron and Ella Wellington of Grand Junction, MI, brothers-in-law; Robert Latham of Fort Lauderdale, FL Larry and Sue Latham of Lowell, MI, sisters-in-law;  Deb  Wellington of Houston, TX, Lynda and Danny Stejskal of South Haven, MI.  Jane is also survived by many nieces and nephews with her son, Dan and Kristina expecting her first grandchild in the fall.
