Janet Kay Allen age 61 of Alma, Michigan died Monday, July 31, 2006 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on August 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Doyle Perry will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Alma, Michigan. There will be no Visitation.
Janet was born in Alma, Michigan on May 8, 1945 the daughter of Elwin and Nila ( Richards ) Painter. She resided most of her life in the Laingsburg and Alma areas and attended Alma High School. Janet married Walter Allen in Breckenridge, Michigan on December 28, 1961. She was a homemaker. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, shopping, going to garage sales, and quilting. Janet was a longtime member of Laingsburg Baptist Church and a past member of the North Star Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband Walter Allen of Lake Isabella, MI, son Russell & Helen Allen of Clare, MI, daughter: Monica & Kent Seger of Owosso, MI, 4 grandchildren; Brianne & Jeff Boakes of Clare, MI, Karmen Allen of Lake Isabella, MI, Amanda Seger of Owosso, MI, Devin Seger of Owosso, MI, 1 great grandchild, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She is predeceased by her parents and 1 brother.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
