Janet Kay Richardson, age 80, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Stone Lodge Memory Care, Shepherd, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Forest Hill Church of Christ at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 17, 2025, with Mr. John Robinson officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Elwell, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Janet was born in Alma, Michigan on September 21, 1944, the daughter of Howard Benjamin and Annabelle (Bringardner) Bush. She graduated from St. Louis High School with the Class of 1962. On June 8, 1964, Janet married Henry Laverne Richardson in Georgia. He was the love of her life. They were blessed with thirty-eight years of marriage and three sons prior to his passing on October 20, 2002.
Janet had a green thumb and loved gardening. She liked traveling, camping and had a sharp fish hook. She was an avid bird watcher and shared that love with her family. She had a sweet tooth, always had a pocket full of candy, and was always up for ice cream!
Janet dedicated over 20 years of service to the Secretary of State office where she made a lasting impact with her hard work and commitment.
She is survived by three sons: Scott (Elizabeth) Richardson, Brian (Jamie) Richardson, and Matthew (Raelinda) Richardson; seven grandchildren: Thomas Richardson, Samuel Richardson, Abbie (Kaleb) Baublitz, Maxwell (Darian) Richardson, Henry Richardson, Isabelle (Josiah) Kindy, and Kylie Richardson; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sally McNamara, and Barbara Morse, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry, her brother Jeff Bush, and sister Pamela Mailand.
