Janet S. Richter age 47 of Ithaca, Michigan died on January 5, 2007 at Schnepp Health Care Center in St. Louis, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mount St. Joseph Catholic Church St. Louis, Michigan on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Rev Fr. Craig Albrecht will officiate and burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be on Sunday 6-8 P.M. and Monday 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel and a Scripture Service will be Monday evening at 7 PM at the funeral home.
Janet was born in St. Ignace, Michigan on September 6, 1960 the daughter of William A. and Elizabeth J. (Lee) Goetz. She attended St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1978, she also graduated from Cosmetology School. She had resided most of her life in Grand Rapids & Holland, Michigan.
On May 10, 1980 she married Scott Richter in St. Louis, Michigan and then were married again in Holland, Michigan on August 12, 2000. She was a former manager of Burger King in Holland, Michigan. She loved camping, frisbee golf, water skiing and the outdoors. Family & friends were very important to her and enjoyed being with them, and she loved her dogs very much. Janet was a former member of Mount St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, Michigan and a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Richter of Ithaca, 1 son, Andrew Richter of Ithaca, grandson, Travis Richter, parents, William & Elizabeth Goetz of St. Louis, mother in-law, Mickie Collison of St. Louis, 2 sisters, Sharolyn Goetz of St. Louis, Brenda & Douglas Edgar of Alma, 2 brothers, Gail & Denise Goetz of St. Louis, Gary Goetz of Palatine, IL, sister in-law, Debbie & Earl Dickman of West Virginia, 2 brother in-laws, Ed & Nan Richter of Mecosta, Tom & Theresa Richter of Ithaca, several nieces & nephews. She was predecesed by 1 daughter, Amanda Marie Richter in infancy, father in law, Jack Richter, grandparents Clyde & Marie Richter, Fred & Gladys Lee, Menard & Agnes May Goetz, Memorial may be made to the wishes of the family.
