Janette Lucile Robinson

     Janette Lucile Robinson, age 79, of Elsie, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, Michigan, at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

     Janette was born in Elsie, Michigan, on August 10, 1943, the daughter of Russell J. and Bernadine Lucile (Linman) Robinson. When Janette was 15 years old she developed a brain tumor and in the course of three surgeries she lost her eye site and become mentally handicapped. Before being diagnosed she was attending Elsie Schools. When she came home she needed some special educational training and then went to the Lansing School for the Blind. She graduated from there with class of 1963.

     Janette was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan and enjoyed listing to them on the radio for many years.  She moved to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor after her mother's death and the staff over many years became her family to her and she loved them very much.

     She is survived by two sisters: Cathy and Dan Korienek of Grandville, Michigan; Karen and Ron Barton of Ithaca, Michigan; brother-in-law Gary Pontious of Roscommon, Michigan; many nieces and nephews and a special friend Angie Sawyer.  Janette was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Janice Pontious and her two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Mary Robinson and RJ and Carole Robinson.
