Janice English

Janice Arlene English age 85 of St. Louis, MI, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

A Celebratory Gathering will be held at a later date.

Janice was born in Alma, MI on December 9, 1932, the daughter of Fred and Ella (Keefer) O'Boyle.  Janice graduated from Alma High School.  She married Jim English in November of 1952. Janice resided her entire life in the St. Louis and Alma community.

Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.  Family gatherings and extended family events were very important to her.  She was an avid reader and appreciated the St. Louis Public Library.  Janice enjoyed Pure Michigan; she was an explorer of Michigan and beyond, loved the outdoors, including her summers at Lake Leelanau.  Playing cards and board games was a favorite pastime with family and friends.  Janice will always be remembered for her sustained patience and profound loyalty.  She was a provider of peace, was admired for her inward strength, humility, and quiet fierceness.  Janice understood others individual hearts' needs and blessed us for being our rock.  For good stories and better memories, our Nana.

Janice is survived by her daughter Cheryl and Tom Drumm of Hastings, MI; son Jeff and Pamela English of Battle Creek, MI; 4 granddaughters: Heather, Danielle, Carlen and Lauren; 2 great-granddaughters: Madison and Eleanor; brother Bob and Kay O'Boyle; sister Marilyn and Gordon Hahn; brother Norman and Bea O'Boyle; brother-in-law Larry Schnepp; sister Bette Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister Vicki Schnepp.
