Janice Weber, called Janie by almost all who knew her, our loving sister, "our Chunice," went to her heavenly home on January 18, 2011. She, throughout her time with us, was an example to her family and others of what is truly important and enduring in this life and beyond. Although developmentally disabled from her birth on April 28, 1942, Janie joyfully participated in a wide range of activities and travel, accompanied mostly by one or all of her four sisters, and in some instances with their growing children.
Janie is survived by sisters, Gladys Heckman, Rosemary (Gary) Thelen, Dee Dee (Larry) Hoppes, Colleen, a.k.a., Beaner (Gordon) Hoppes, and brothers, Stanley, William (Bonnie), and Paul (Sharon) Weber, as well as 16 nieces and nephews, 15 grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Roberta (Smith) Weber, as well as Joseph, their first-born.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding and interment at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Friday, with the rosary being prayed at 3p.m. and a vigil at 8 p.m., at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler.
A major portion of money donated will go to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund, with the remainder to be dispersed according to the wishes of the family. The family was serviced by Osgood Funeral Homes.
