Jasper Fockler

Jasper E. Fockler, age 91, of Elwell, MI passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, MI.

Private Funeral Services were held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI with Rev. Dr. Jana Lynn Almeida officiating. Burial was held at Chapel Gardens Cemetery, Seville Township, MI.

Jasper was born in North Shade Township, MI, on October 16, 1922, the son of James W. and Nina (Corbin) Fockler. Jasper married Ina M. Youngs on February 11, 1943. Jasper served his country in the US Army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired as a Tool & Die Maker from Lobdell-Emery after 36 years of service.

Jasper is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Ina Fockler of Elwell, MI, daughter Janice and Gary Brenner of Riverdale, MI, son Clifton and Marlene Fockler of Riverdale, MI, grandson Randy and Nicole Brenner of Elwell, MI, granddaughter Laurie Wing and Chris Zelinski of Riverdale, MI, grandson Jamie L. and Jamie M. Fockler of Elwell, MI, 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Jasper was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandson, 2 sisters; Myrtle Whitman and Flora Jerome and 2 brothers; Phillip and Marion Fockler.
