Jean I. Bush age 83 of St. Louis, MI died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Carson City Hospital Carson City, MI
Funeral Service will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ St. Louis, MI on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Jean was born in Midland County, Michigan on May 31, 1922 the daughter of John Steven and Mary Amelia ( Reyer ) Hall. She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, MI and graduated from Shepherd High School. Jean married Frederick Bush on November 12, 1943 in St. Louis, MI. He died October 29, 1974. She was the co-owner of Bush Dairy from 1943 - 1964 with her husband Fred. She worked as a bus driver for St. Louis Public Schools for many years. Jean then worked for Reichards Hatchery, State Farm Insurance in St. Louis, Elsleys IGA in St. Louis, and was a CNA at Yorkshire Village in Mt.Pleasant until her retirement in 1997. She loved her gardening, including raspberry and strawberry bushes. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds and all wildlife. She loved all animals including her cats and dogs. Jean was very involved with all her family and Sunday dinners were very important to her. She was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI and she was very active and enjoyed volunteering with the Gratiot Senior Center and was on the Board of Directors for many years.
She is survived by 5 children; Rachel & Tim Musselman of St. Louis, MI, John & Lois Bush of Cassopolis, MI. Ken Bush & Anita Rositas of St. Louis, MI, Mary Ruth Bush of Carson City, MI, Jim Bush & Renee Bare of St. Louis, MI, 9 Grandchildren; Heidi, Jodie, Heather, Leslie, Carrie, Adam, Teresa, Luke, Pete, 9 Great Grandchildren, sister Rena Bucholz of St. Louis, MI, and 1 brother Richard & Helen Hall of St. Louis, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son Fred W. Bush, 2 brothers, Elwood & Wesley Hall, and 1 sister Ruth Travis.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot Senior Center, 1329 Michigan Avenue, St. Louis, the American Cancer Society, or Carson City Hospital. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel, 117 North East Street, St. Louis, MI 48880.
