Jean Gorney

Jean J. Gorney age 69, of Elwell, MI, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, MI.

Cremation has taken place and private family services were held.

Jean was born in Detroit, MI on July 26, 1947, the daughter of James J. and Marjorie H. (Block) Wackerly. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School with the class of 1965. Jean married Ron Gorney on November 5, 1966, in Saginaw, MI.

Jean was very artistic, she loved painting, crocheting, quilting and flower gardening. Jean and her cousin Nancy Cary started the Wackerly Family Reunion which was held every September. She enjoyed helping her granddaughter Sloan with her school work and spending time with her. Jean loved her time spent up north with her family. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband Ron Gorney of Elwell, MI, daughter Ronda and Chad Salchert of Mt. Pleasant, MI, son James Gorney of St. Louis, MI, granddaughter Sloan Salchert of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and step grandchildren; Myra and Megan Salchert, of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
