Jeanette Hatta

Jeanette Fern (Faiver) Hatta went to the Lord, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the beautiful age of 98.  She was born September 17, 1921 in St. Johns, MI, the daughter of Clyde and Flossie (Palmer) Faiver.  She was a graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School, married Michael Hatta December 27, 1939 and had two daughters.  Jeanette was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She was a resident of St. Johns, MI until the year 2000 when blindness forced her to move closer to her daughters.  She cherished her family, friends, her home of St. Johns, and her St. Joseph Catholic Church community.  Her strength came from her faith in God and devotion to His mother, Mary.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Lou DeLauney (Lee) Nauert and Monica Hatta; three granddaughters: Monique (Stewart) Tan, Renee (Mark) Smith, Nicole (Robert) Jacobs; eight great-grandchildren: Dayna Tan, Adam Tan, David Tan, Murielle Smith, Madeline (Andrew) Johnson, Juliette Smith, Brett Jacobs, Rockne Jacobs; and one great-great-grandchild Clementine Johnson.  She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Hatta, brother Gerald Faiver, sister Opal (Faiver) Mattson, and son-in-law Rockne (Mary Lou) DeLauney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Doug Osborn officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
