Jeanette Shea

Jeanette Irene Shea, age 77, of Elsie, MI went to be with her Lord and other family members on Sunday, February 27th, 2011 at Ovid Healthcare Center in Ovid, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Tuesday, March 1st at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Chuck Emmert will officiate. Burial will take place at Duplain Township Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Jeanette was born in Clinton County, Michigan on November 21, 1933, the daughter of Charles and Grace Leota (Case) Bradshaw. She married Richard Shea, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1982. Jeanette was a lifelong resident of the area. She had worked as a cook at several area restaurants, the last one being at The Brass Lamp in Owosso. She also was a cake decorator for many occassions, especially for all of her grandchildrens celebrations. She loved baking, ceramics, crafts, gardening, sewing, and bird watching. She was a mentor for her grandchildren, and enjoyed helping them with 4H and their hobbies. She was a member of the Duplain Church of Christ, where she volunteered at the Sharing Corner.


She is survived by her son Randy and Carole Shea of Middleton, MI; daughter Charlene and Jim Kusnier of Ovid, MI; 5 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother Keith Slepr of St. Johns, MI; lifelong friends Barbara Jean Ross and Lucille Lenker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Jeff, 2 grandsons Jeffery and Kenneth, and a sister Mary.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sharing Corner at The Duplain Church of Christ or to the Charity of the Donors Choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan.
