Jeanne Alaga

Jeanne M. Alaga, age 57 of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church Ovid, MI. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Kuchar officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI with a Rosary being prayed on Friday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI at a later date.

Jeanne was born in Lakeview, MI on April 27, 1963 the daughter of Vincent Lewis and Carol Ann (Bradley) Miller.  Jeanne married Alan Alaga on May 8, 2010 in St. Johns, MI.  She resided most of her life in St. Johns.

Jeanne worked as an Administrative Assistant at Abraham & Gaffney PC in St. Johns.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Jeanne enjoyed camping with Alan and she loved to spend time reading, walking and doing yoga.

She is survived by her husband Alan Alaga of Ovid, MI; 6 daughters: Erin and Scott Heitstuman of Union Town, WA; Julie and Doug Mason of St. Johns, MI; Leanne and Mitch Toribio of Ovid, MI; Renee and Tony Bush of Ovid, MI; Lisa and Brad Manzullo of Okemos, MI; Brooke and Matthew Keilen of Valdosta, GA; 12 grandchildren; parents Vincent and Carol Miller of Remus, MI; 2 brothers: Mike Miller and Janet Hunt of Mecosta, MI; Dave and Holly Miller of Stanwood, MI; and son in law Chris Haywood of Ypsilanti, MI.  Jeanne was preceded in death by her daughter Marcy Davy Haywood, sister Cathy Hitchmough, and her first husband Thomas Davy.
