Jennifer Harjes

Jennifer Lynn Harjes, age 36, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor John Hagerman officiating.  Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery Ithaca, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jennifer was born in Carson City, MI on July 18, 1982, the daughter of Keith and Cynthia (Hindenlang) Johnson. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 2001.  Jennifer had worked at Burger King, McDonald's, and Vito's Pizza all in Ithaca, and Quest Software in St. Johns for many years where she was known as 'JJ.'

Jennifer enjoyed camping, fishing at Houghton Lake, and shopping. She liked hanging out with her friends and traveling; they took many trips to Chicago on the train together. She loved music and singing. She lived for her sons, Bradley and Chase.

She is survived by her sons: Bradley and Chase Harjes of Ithaca, MI, parents Keith and Cynthia Johnson of Ithaca, MI, brother James and Jodi Johnson of Dublin, OH, grandparents: Kay Hoffman of St. Louis, MI; Timothy and Sandy Hoffman of Sumner, MI; Eugene Hindenlang of Riverdale, MI; and Loretta Hindenlang of Alma, MI; aunts and uncles: Kevin and Glenda Johnson of St. Louis, MI; Richard Hindenlang of Mesick, MI; Roberta Bloomfield of Cleveland, OH; and Brian Hindenlang of MI; and father of her children Jeffrey Harjes of St. Johns, MI.  She is also survived by many cousins, great aunts and great uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Keith A. and Evelyn Johnson.
