Jerry Criner

Jerry Roy Criner age 75, of Ovid, MI, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 A.M.

Jerry was born in Owosso, MI on November 3, 1942, the son of Arthur Eugene and Bertha Mae (Nethaway) Criner. Jerry resided all of his life in Ovid and was a class of 1961 graduate of Ovid High School.  Jerry married Sharon on August 3, 1973 in Owosso, MI.

Jerry retired in 2007 from truck driving with AgroLiquid in St. Johns.  He achieved the Million Mile Safe Driver Award.  Jerry enjoyed tractor pulling, riding motorcycles, and camping.  Most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His dog Lucy was very special to him.  He will be missed by his 4 A.M. coffee shop buddies at Mary's Country Kitchen.

Jerry will be missed by his family greatly, he is survived by his wife Sharon Criner of Ovid, MI; son Gregg and Holly Criner of Ovid, MI; son Gary and Robert Criner of Ovid, MI; step-son Clayton and Karla Prikasky of Ovid, MI; step-son Joseph Prikasky of East Lansing, MI; step-daughter Holly and Gregg Criner of Ovid, MI; 3 grandchildren Dan and Beth Craig, Amber and Gary Brown, and Katlynn Criner; 5 great-grandchildren Savannah, Carissa, Prestyn, Elise and Elliott; brother Richard and Mary  Criner of Kawkawlin, MI; brother Neal and Colleen Criner of Roscommon, MI; sister Joann and Larry Cavanaugh of Roscommon, MI; and sister Jean Lehman of South Rockwood, MI.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Howard Applebee, 4 brothers-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law.
