Jerry Morgan

Jerry "Animal" Morgan of Owosso passed away September 16, 2015 after just turning 72 on September 9th. Jerry worked for Johnson Control Battery plant of Owosso until the plant moved out of state at which time he worked in a couple of small shops in Owosso; then a golden opportunity opened up for him to work at Carter Lumber Co. of Owosso. He dearly loved working out in the yard helping the customers choose the right materials for their special projects. After suffering two heart attacks he could no longer work. Shortly after that he battled throat cancer and won but was left with what he called a "hole in my throat" causing him to have to talk with a mechanical voice. He proudly served in the US Army as 101 Airborne Special Forces. Part of his job as a paratrooper was a rigger of parachutes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by wife, Janet (Klaassen) Morgan, son, Shad (Janelle) Morgan, sister, Linda (Grant) Palen, brother, Glen (Joan) Morgan, step mother, Linda Morgan, granddaughters, Mallory and Mia Morgan, nephews, Scott and Charlie and nieces, Carey and Morgan. Predeceased by his father, Max Morgan, sister, Debbie Cerney and infant nephew, Shawn.
As per Jerry's wishes he was cremated.

His Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid, MI, with Rick Zimbelman officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. After the service there will be a gathering for lunch at the United Church on Front St. in Ovid.
