Jesse McGaughy

Jesse Harmon McGaughy age 38, of Lansing, MI, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, MI.

A private family memorial service will take place this week.

Jesse was born in Clare, MI, on December 28, 1979 the son of Jesse Harmon McGaughy and Rosetta Mae (Scheall) Smith.

Jesse had a love for sports, especially Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan. Time spent with his family was very special to him, he was the protector of his younger sisters. He had a big heart and was always a momma's boy. Jesse was a proud dad and loved his son Trey very much. He had worked in the restaurant business most of his life and enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by his son Trey McGaughy of Mt. Pleasant, MI; mother Rosetta and Orville Smith of Manistique, MI; father Jesse McGaughy of Clare, MI; siblings: Misty and Don Johnson of St. Louis, MI; Nellie and Nick Pierce of St. Louis, MI; Alisha and Furrukh Iqbal of Edmond, OK; Candace McGaughy of Clinton Township, MI; and girlfriend April Raborn of Lansing, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Martha Wing, whom he had a very special bond with.
