Jimmie W. Roberts, age 70, of St. Louis, MI died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Jimmie was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 8, 1944, the son of Earl Eugene and Willie Mae (Knox) Roberts. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, FL class of 1963. He married Janice Fuller on June 10, 1972 in Jacksonville, FL. Jimmie was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and moved to St. Louis in 1976. He retired from Alma Products as a Maintenance Coordinator and also worked 9 years at the Soaring Eagle Casino as a Security Guard following his retirement. Jimmie enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit family, watching Detroit Tigers baseball, and his dog Cynnamon. He was a member of the Alma VFW Post and served in the US Army serving two tours in Vietnam and a tour in Korea.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Janice Roberts of St. Louis, MI, 2 daughters; Sherry Warren of Hiram, GA, Tammy Owens of Olympia, WA, grandchildren; Brittaney Williams of Sandy, UT, Tory Johnson of Hiram, GA, 2 brothers; Charles David and Cecelia Roberts of Lakeland, FL, Stephen Daryl Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, sister Mary Louise and Jim Stokes of Newington, GA, 2 sisters in law; Linda and Howard Jarvis of Panama City Beach, FL, Dona and Rod Sutten of Alma, MI, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Edward and Robert Roberts, parents in law Ann and Donald Fuller, and brother in law Donald Fuller. The family would like to especially thank Davita Dialysis and the Emergency Dept. at Mid Michigan Medical Center.
