Joan Louise Brown, age 70, of Henderson, Michigan died Friday, December 11th, 2009 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Wednesday, December 16th at 10:00 A.M., her family members will officiate, burial will take place at Forrest Hill Cemetery, Evart Michigan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday 2-8 p.m. family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie chapel.
Joan was born in Shiawassee County, Michigan on May 3, 1939, the daughter Arza L. Parker and Leta (Goodrich) Gleason. She graduated from Ovid High School with the class of 1957.
She married Charles Swan in Ovid, in 1957 and was married for 14 yrs, he died in 1975, in 1987 she married Darlton Brown, in Springfield, MO. Joan was a homemaker and loved to go fishing, deer hunting, she was proud of taking 3 spike horn bucks in the past 6 years. Joan enjoyed gardening, and she had worked for Vaughn's Seed, in Ovid for 6 years.
Survivors include her husband Darlton Brown of Henderson, MI; 1 daughter Dana Swan and Clay Devalt of Gowen, MI; 2 sons Steven and ChiSun Swan of Colorado Springs, CO. Leland Swan of Springfield, MO. 1 step daughter Bethany & Jim Heinz and 1 step son, Gerald Brown, 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, 3 brothers Robert and Susie Parker of Elsie, MI. Brian and Peggy Parker of Lansing, MI. Bradford Parker of Grant, MI. 1 sister, Jane Wilson of Lake City, MI; 3 step sister Gwen and Jerry Denny of Empire, MI. Edith and Robert Frye of Elsie, MI. Virginia and Robert Radamacher of Hubbardston, MI; step brother Rollo Gleason of Ovid, MI
Joan also leaves behind, best friends, Lucille & Earl Weissend, Greg & Bonita March, Rodney, Elsie, Rita, Ross Loynes. Larry & Mary, Cheyann, & Olivia Jackson.
She was predeceased by her her parents and 1 daughter, Memorials may be made to the Shepardsville United Methodist Church. .
