Joan M. Mills, age 76, of Ashley, MI passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeff Reeser officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Joan was born in Ashley, Michigan on August 4, 1938, the daughter of Steve and Julia (Deming) Paksi. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1956. Joan married Richard Mills on September 24, 1955 in Ashley. Joan was a lifelong resident of Ashley, MI. She retired from Sealed Power in 1999. Joan enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, baking, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Richard Mills of Ashley, MI, son Kevin Mills of Ionia, MI, son Kelly and Jalene Mills of Westphalia, MI, daughter Konnie and Chris Bovee of Ithaca, MI, grandson Jeremy Mills of Westphalia, MI, granddaughter Taylor Bovee of Ithaca, MI, 2 brothers; Jerry and Ann Paksi of Ashley, MI, Steve and Diane Paksi of Alma, MI and sister Sharon and Walter Karns of Harrison, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
