John Boyer

John R. Boyer age 53 of Ithaca, Michigan passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Mercy Health St. Mary Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Mike Skeith officiating.  Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

John was born in Alma, Michigan on September 18, 1963.  He was a graduate of Alma High School.  John married Beverly Harger on August 24, 1996 in Breckenridge, MI. He resided most of his life in Ithaca.

John worked at Pizza Hut in Alma as a delivery driver for 27 years.  He loved to golf, especially with his son and bowling with his family.  John was an excellent euchre player and enjoyed many heated games with his family.  He also enjoyed watching WWE, watching Walking Dead with his son and Impractical Jokers with his daughter.  John was an avid Ithaca sports fan and loved watching his children play for Ithaca.  Cheering on the football team on Friday nights was the highlight of his week.

He is survived by his wife Beverly Boyer of Ithaca, MI, son Tayler Boyer of Ithaca, MI, daughter Kameryn Boyer of Ithaca, MI, son Robert Boyer of Detroit, MI, daughter Theresa Boyer of Detroit, MI, 7 grandchildren, parents John and Barbara Gallahan of Alma, MI, mother-in-law Debbie Moore of Ithaca, MI, and sister-in-law Stephanie and Darren Martyn of Ithaca, MI. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  John was preceded in death by his brother Michael Gallahan and sister Kathy Cool.
