John Grice

John Nelson "Rocky" Grice age 70, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, MI.

A Funeral Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Jeff Reser officiating.  Burial will follow at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home

Rocky was born in Clermont, Florida on November 5, 1946, the son of Wesley and Ruby (Poppels) Grice.  Rocky married Cindy Walker on October 18, 1997 in Ashley, MI.  Rocky enjoyed going to the casino; a highlight of his life was going to Vegas and riding in a Big plane for the first time.  He loved being outside and enjoyed tinkering with things in the garage, and making birdhouses.  He loved trips up north and was very fascinated with airplanes.  He was also very fond of his special cat, Missy.  He enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers-in-law and dreamed of one day going to Alaska and panning for gold.  He enjoyed watching Gold Rush and Bering Sea Gold on T.V.  Rocky was a former employee at American Bumper in Ionia, MI, and worked in factories most of his life.  He had many friends and was loved by many people who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Grice, son John and Camille Grice, daughter Carla Fetty and Jerry Aldrich, son Christopher Grice, daughter Sherri Bissell, son Rodney Johnson, 8 grandchildren; Alex (Angelita), Aaron, Brianna (Jeffrey), Nicholas, Trevor (Shelby), Elisha, JP and Josie, 7 great-grandchildren; Alex Jr, Ariana, Levi, Lucas, Abel, Hayden, and Mila, brother-in-law Roger and Carol Walker, sisters-in-law; Diane and Buster Gibson, and Harriet Grice, mother-in-law Helen Walker, and several nieces and nephews.  Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, sister Michelle and brother Art.
