John Lacina age 89 of Owosso, MI died Tuesday July 29, 2008 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Fr. John Fain will officiate with burial at St. Paul Cemetery Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 6-8 P.M. and on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.

John was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1919, the son Albert and Frances (Shada) Lacina. John married Nelda K. Daly on May 7, 1955 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Owosso, MI. Nelda died on January 6, 1993. John resided in Owosso for most of his life and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church where he served on the Nocturnal Adoration Society of the Church. John was employed by Mulhull and Erb Lumber Company for 13 years and he worked for Midland Ross for 23 years, before retiring in 1981. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. John was a good carpenter.

He is survived by three sisters; Anna Smalley of Morrice, MI, Blanche Jones of Lansing, MI, Alice Marie Lacina of Adrian, MI, sister-in-law Dorine Lacina of Ovid, MI, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, 2 brothers; Albert & Robert, and 5 sisters; Mary, Sophie, Agnes, Helen, and Frances.
