John Mojica

John Mojica age 68, of Lansing, MI, formerly of St. Louis, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes 117 North East Street, St. Louis, MI, on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Thomas Ewer officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, 104 E. Cass Street, St. Johns, MI.

John was born in St. Louis, Michigan on April 19, 1948, the son of Trinidad “Joe” and Mary (Vasquez) Mojica.  John graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1966.  John married Raquel Hernandez on April 26, 1969 in St. Louis, MI.

John enjoyed street rod cars, riding his Harley and driving his 2014 Camaro SS.  He loved talking and joking with people. He was a very hard worker; he was currently employed at Ryder Lansing Logistics in Lansing, MI. John received many awards throughout his working career and most recently had received 'Driver of the Year 2010'.  John especially loved spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He served his country in the United States Navy; he was stationed in San Diego, CA.

He is survived by his wife Raquel Mojica of Lansing, MI, daughters;  Rebecca Mojica of Lansing, MI, Victoria and Colt Meeder of Holt, MI, grandchildren; John Michael Massey, Mikhale Mojica, Marissa Mojica, Marshall Meeder, Mitchell Meeder, Illeana Medina, Teresa Meeder, great granchildren; Aamir (Chocos) Mojica, Aubriella Mojica, sister Patricia and Dave Smith of Essexville, MI, brother Andrew and Sue Mojica of Freeland, MI, nephews; Bryant and Cheryl LaBonville, Jacob Mojica, and  Drew Mojica.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
