John Robert Morton, age 74 of Mason, formerly of St. Louis passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at his home. He was a Chemist at Michigan Chemical Corporation, then went to work for Michigan Department of Agriculture retiring in 1993.
There will be no Services. Cremains will be buried at a later date in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. John was born on November 23, 1929 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Robert John & Betty (Voltz) Morton. He graduated from Janesville Wisconsin High School in 1948, and then attended Milton College in Milton, Wisconsin graduating with a BS in Chemistry in 1952. He married Jessie Walters on April 1, 1951 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mason, Michigan. He was also a member of Breckenridge Masonic Lodge and the American Chemical Society. He resided in Wisconsin, then moved to St. Louis in 1956 until 1988 when they moved to Mason.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Morton of Mason, MI, 2 daughters, Margaret R. Morton of Falls Church, VA, and Judith A. & Glenn Plowman of Kalamazoo, MI. He was predeceased by his parents.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
