John F. Steffen age 70 of St. Johns, Michigan died Monday, November 15, 2004 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Burial will be held at South Bingham Cemetery, Bingham Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
John was born in Rockford, Michigan on February 11, 1934 the son of George Frederick and Wilma Edna ( Wells ) Steffen. He graduated from Rockford High School with the class of 1952. He then attended Western University where he graduated with an Accounting Degree. He resided most of his life in Rockford, Michigan before moving to St. Johns, MI in 1973. He owned and operated a convenience store on M-52 in Owosso. He was also an accountant for several businesses in the area. John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He loved to fish and go camping.
He is survived by 3 daughters; Greta & John Burdsal of Texas, Andrea & Norman Smith of South Carolina, Georgia Steffen of Owosso, MI, 1 son; Charles & Carolyn Steffen of Pennsylvania, 5 grandchildren; Becky, Andrew, Jake, James, & Joey, 1 sister; Phyllis Cummings of Belding, MI, special nephew Wes Cummings of Belding, MI, and his childrena�(TM)s mother Ann Bowers of Owosso, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, and 1 brother-in-law Wayne Cummings.
Memorials may be made to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
