John Urie

John Lloyd “Jack” Urie age 81, of Sumner, MI, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan, on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Gross officiating.  Burial will take place at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jack was born in Carson City, MI on July 2, 1936 the son of John Smith and Winnie Beula (Davis) Urie.  Jack served his country in the US Army.  On September 19, 2009 Jack married Janice Carroll in Sumner, MI.

In his early years he owned and operated Jack's Body Shop in Carson City, MI. There was not anything that Jack couldn’t fix.  He enjoyed going to Arizona, and he also enjoyed riding his quad wherever and whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife Janice Urie, 1 daughter Michele and Larry Carman, 4 step daughters: Lynn and Ronald Hunt, Dorene and Roger Rockafellow, Diane and Michael Brown, Tammie and Todd Holton, 3 step sons: Larry and Denice Wymer, Bruce and Cynthia Wymer, Rick and Renee Wymer, 1 sister Naomi Sweet, 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
