Rev. Jose H. Fuentes age 72 of Alma, Michigan died Monday, October 25, 2004 at Gratiot Community Hospital, Alma, MI
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 004 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Alma, MI. Pastor Jesse Mendoza will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday 6-8 P.M. & Friday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
Jose was born on February 2, 1932 in LaFeria, Texas the son of ClementAC. & Eucaria ( Herrera ) Fuentes
He has resided in Alma, Michigan since 1952. Jose married Sara Ramon on October 5, 1952 in Maple Rapids, Michigan.
Jose served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong evangelist of the gospel. He loved to play the guitar and accordion. He was always lending a helping hand and loved to travel, and he was very outspoken. Jose loved his coffee breaks, and had an open door policy to everyone. He was a very strong patriarch of the family. Jose left the legacy of teaching his family the values of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife Sara Fuentes of Alma, MI, 6 children; Honda-Joe & Julie Fuentes of St. Louis, MI, Robert "Carlos" & Beatrice Fuentes of Lansing, MI, Sandra & Paul Bosker of Canton, MI, Edgar "Tito" Fuentes & Chandra Nelson of St. Louis, MI, Timothy Fuentes of Alma, MI, Aaron Fuentes & Jessica Gager of Alma, long time family pet Lobo, 13 Grandchildren; Jamie, Landi, Joey, Erika, Chelsee, Joel, Isaiah, Luke, Benjamin, Franchesca, Carley, Noel,& Andreas, 5 Great Grandchildren; Torri, Adin, Logan, Willow, Jordan, 7 Brothers & Sisters; Abraham Fuentes of TX, Aurora "Cha Cha" Acevedo of OH, Clemente Fuentes of MI, Eli Fuentes of IN, Esther Ramos of OH, Rebecca Esquivel of OH, Sara Smith of WA, & several nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, daughter Vivian Fuentes, brother Daniel & twin sister Mary.
