Joseph D. Poisson, age 75, of St. Louis, MI died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Deacon John Cremin officiating. There will be one hour of visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.

Joseph was born in Hubbell, Michigan on June 1, 1937, the son of Dona and Margaret (Monville) Poisson. Joseph married Nancy J. Neito on October 14, 1957.

Joe retired from Alma Plastics, and had previously worked for Quincy Mining Company on the dredge in Hancock, MI. He also worked for Montgomery Ward as a salesperson, and for Pine River Country Club as groundskeeper. Joe volunteered with the Salvation Army for 15 years, and played Santa Clause for area schools. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid fisherman, and loved antique cars. He completely restored his 1946 Plymouth. He served 8 years in the US Naval Reserves, and was also a member of the Midstatesman Barbershoppers. He was a member of Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Poisson of St. Louis, MI, daughter Deborah and Keith Woodcock of Vestaburg, MI, daughter Maria and Damon Davis of Stanton, MI, son David and Cindy Poisson of Alma, MI, daughter Susan Allen of St. Louis, MI, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister Clara Taipalus of Alma, MI, brother Ernest Poisson of Hubbell, MI, and sister Mary Alice Bobbitt of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Danielle Parker, and parents in law Adam & Helen Neito.
