Joseph Pospisil age 88 of Elsie, Michigan died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. Rev Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt & Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery in Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2004 from 2-8 with family present from 2-6 & 2-8 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Scripture Service will be Friday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Joe was born on February 7, 1916 in Gratiot County, Michigan the son of John & Anna ( Bannar ) Pospisil. He was married to Lillian Konecny on November 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owosso, Michigan. Lillian died on May 22, 1986. He was retired from Fisher Body and he also farmed. Joe enjoyed gardening, farming, and hunting. He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church. He was also a member of ZCBJ Lodge of Bannister, Michigan and he attended the Eagles Lodge in Owosso, Michigan. He resided all of his life in the Elsie & Bannister areas.
He is survived by his daughter Shirley & Robert Kalocy of Elsie, MI, 3 grandchildren, Richard & Natasha Kalocy of Kalamazoo, MI, Kelly Kalocy of Elsie, MI, and Kimberly Kalocy of Elsie, MI, 1 great granddaughter Katelyn Kalocy of Elsie, MI, 3 sisters, Bessie Homister of Saranac, MI, Mary Jones of Owosso, MI, Frances Nowak, Flushing, MI and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 sister Lillian, twin brothers, Frank & Charles and special nephew John Pospisil.
Memorial may be made to St. Cyril's Catholic Church or ZCBJ Lodge. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel
