Joseph John Skriba, age 89, passed away Monday May 3, 2004 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in St. Johns, Michigan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 6, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 P.M. and Wednesday 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel. Scripture Service will be Wednesday at 6:30 P.M.
Joseph was born on May 30, 1914 in Chicago Illinois. He resided in the Elsie area since 1946. He married Jane E. Matousek in Detroit, Michigan on November 25, 1937. Jane died on October 3, 1991. He was a farmer and worked for Midland Ross & Motor Wheel. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. Joseph attended St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church in Bannister, MI. He was also a member of the National Slovak Society #727.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Jean & John Dvorski of Bear Lake, MI, Pat & Larry Ladiski of Elsie, MI, 2 sons, Robert & Helen Skriba of Elsie, MI, Richard & Billie Skriba of Elsie, MI, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 sister, 3 brothers, 1 granddaughter, and 1 daughter-in-law.
Memorial may be made to St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel.
