Josephine was born in Richmond, Indiana on April 24, 1940, the daughter of Clarence Sittloh and Dorothy (Stephenson) Smith. She married Donald Gould on April 11, 1981, they were married in Owosso, MI.
Jo and Don loved going to Florida together for the winter. She was an avid reader. Her cats held a special place in her heart. Jo worked as a Dispatcher and retired from General Telephone.
She is survived by her husband Don Gould of Breckenridge, MI; sons: David and Angie Thomas of Louisiana; stepdaughters Theresa Irons and Cody Golden of Wheeler, MI; stepdaughters: Michelle and Brian Rice of Davison, MI; Rebecca and David Scherschel of Las Vegas, NV; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; special longtime friend Judy McIntyre of Owosso, MI. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Perry, and her sister Betty.
Memorials may be made to the Gratiot County Commission on Aging 515 S. Pine Street Ithaca, MI 48847, or Woodland Hospice House 2597 S. Meridian Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.
