Josie Goldman

Josie Goldman age 90, of Bannister, MI, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2:00 P.M., with Mr. Thomas J. Bradley officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI.  Visitation will be held on Friday, before the service from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Josie was born in Parkton, NC on February 24, 1928 the daughter of   John Wesley and May (Edwards) Wilkes. On August 23, 1945 she married Theodore Goldman in Fayetteville, North Carolina; Ted passed away on April 26, 1984.

Josie was a homemaker and she owned and operated her restaurant in Bannister for 12 years. She also worked at Ashley Nursing Home and was a cook at the Bannister and Ashley Public Schools. She also did a lot of baby-sitting for many children who lived in Bannister, MI. She had a great spirit and a joy when people came to visit her.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Linda and Brian Swatman of Owosso, MI; Anna Jo and Todd Ewing of Glendale, AZ; son Donald Morgan of Grand Rapids, MI; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter Judy Barrett, 3 sisters and 8 brothers.
