Joyce Margaret Curtis, age 88, of St. Johns, MI passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring.
Joyce was born in Elsie, Michigan on July 10, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Lydia (Fields) Woodard. Joyce married William M. Curtis on April 30, 1988. Joyce enjoyed playing cards and swimming. Bill and Joyce moved to Mesa, AZ in 1975 where they lived until 2011. Bill passed away on June 11, 2011, she then returned to St. Johns to be with her daughters. Joyce was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church and Gold Canyon Methodist Church in Apache Junction, AZ. Joyce enjoyed crocheting and needle point, and she was an avid reader.
Joyce was lovingly cared for at Hazel Findlay Country Manor for the last 3 years. She enjoyed interacting with the staff who referred to her as "Mert".
She is survived by 2 daughters; MaryLu and Robert Boettger, and Lydia and Ronald Pattison, son Brent and Sue Axford, 22 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, sisters in law; Glenna Nicoson, and Joyce Woodard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Curtis, 2 sons; Kerry D. Reed and Lester W. Reed, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
