Joyce Elaine (Packer) Fisher

     Joyce Elaine Fisher, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home on October 19, 2023.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Ithaca on Tuesday, October 24, 2023; at 1:00 P.M. with Courteney Jimerson officiating. Burial will take place at Emerson Township Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home

     Joyce was born on April 4, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Golda (Fitzgerald) Packer. She was a graduate of St. Louis High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Fisher, on December 13, 1952.

      Joyce enjoyed working in her flower beds and garden. For many years she created beautiful flower arrangements that decorated the church. She had a great passion for singing, playing the piano, and collecting Hobnail Milk glass. Mowing the lawn was one of her favorite activities. Joyce was also a talented seamstress and helped many learn to sew through 4-H. She was very artistic and spent many hours making crafts, taking china painting classes and creating personalized Christmas and birthday cards for those close to her.

     Joyce is survived by her husband Wayne Fisher of Breckenridge MI; son Gary Fisher of Breckenridge MI; daughter Deborah (Thomas) Mecomber of Bakersfield CA; daughter Corinne Fisher (Eric Rosendall) of Ithaca MI; grandchildren; Dayne (Emily) Fisher; Cody Fisher; Morgan (Michael) Eldridge, Courteney (Jason) Jimerson; Taylor Kimmel (Kelsey Benz); Austin (Allie) Kimmel; and great-grandchildren; Devyn Fisher; Mylie Fisher; Garrin McDaid; Maddix McDaid; Zaria Fisher; Mia Fisher; Ever Eldridge; and Iris Jimerson.  She is also survived by one sister Betty (Raymond) Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marjory, and her sister Janet.
