Julia M. Hoshield age 87 formerly of Owosso, Michigan passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Burcham Hills Center for Health and Rehab in East Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie, Michigan on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Robert Zimmerman officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery,  Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Julia was born on October 9, 1929 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Dewey and May (Kerr) Hunt. She graduated from Chesaning High School on May 31, 1948.  On August 7, 1950, she married Homer Hoshield in Angola, Indiana. Homer passed away on February 5, 2006 after 55 years of marriage. Julia was a homemaker and enjoyed golfing, bowling and painting ceramics.  When she was younger she had learned to fly an airplane and was a licensed pilot.

She is survived by her children Diane and Richard Zimmerman of Owosso, MI; Marlene and Dan Osborne of Williamston, MI; Steven and Pam Hoshield of St. Peters, MO; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren a brother William and Janice Hunt, and 2 sisters in law Gwen Hoshield and Beatrice Baese.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Homer, and 3 brothers; Robert, Donald, and John Hunt.
