Julia Paksi

Julia R. Paksi, age 91, of Ashley, Michigan died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Carson City Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Edwin Snook officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Burial will take place at Banker Cemetery, Cadillac, Michigan.

Julia was born in Flushing, Michigan on May 3, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Thread) Deming. On July 27, 1938 she married Steve Paksi; he died in December of 1990. She resided most of her life in Cadillac and the Ashley area. Julia was a homemaker and enjoyed doing word find puzzles, baking, and crocheting. She also enjoyed planting flowers in the spring and watching birds, especially hummingbirds.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Joan and Richard Mills of Ashley, MI, Sharon and Walter Karns of Harrison, MI, 2 sons; Gerald and Ann Paksi of Ashley, MI, Stephen and Diane Paksi of Alma, MI, 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, 1 sister Mary Paksi of Owosso, MI, and 1 brother Mike and Edie Deming of Brant, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, grandson Michael Paksi, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.
