Julia Ramon

Julia Ramon, age 102, of Alma, MI, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

In following Julia's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and memory dinner will be held at a later date. She will be buried with her husband in Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI.

Julia was born in Yoakum, TX on May 7, 1917, the daughter of Guadalupe and Refugio (Vasquez) Martinez.  In 1935, Julia married Sisto Ramon Jr. in Texas. He preceded her in death in 1954. She worked in food services at Alma College for 30 years.

Julia was kind to everyone. She was very strong willed, dedicated to her family raising all 6 children by herself after her husband's death. Julia was a hard worker often walking to work to the college no matter the weather.  She dearly loved her family and always put family first! Julia was also a pet lover.

Julia is survived by 4 children: Eliaso (Noreen) Ramon of Dunnellon, FL; Joe (Mary Esther) Ramon of Shepherd, MI; Martin (Rose) Ramon of Saginaw, MI; and Sally Root of St. Louis, MI; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sisto Ramon; 2 sons: Felipe Ramon and Michael P. Ramon; and many siblings.
