June Byrnes

June L. Byrnes died March 16, 2009 at the age of 89. Born June 5, 1919 in Ovid, the daughter of Walter and Jennie (Clark) Hamp. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Altar Society. June married Floyd Byrnes on May 28, 1954 in Laingsburg and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1988. She worked for Vaughns Seed Company. She and Floyd then purchased Floyd's Bar in Laingsburg. June also worked for the ceramic shop in Ovid and last but not least she LOVED bingo.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Richard) Criner, Liz (Bob) Waltz, Margaret (Kim) Williams, grandchildren, Mike Criner, Paul (Debbie) Criner, Rod (Liz) Criner, Angie (Ray) Jacobs, Corissa (Bill) Harris, Mallorie (Brad) Harris, Heather Williams, Amanda (Brian) Hofacker, Christina and Hillary George, great grandchildren, Alicia (Steve) Monroe, Sean Samson, Eric, Shannon and Drew Criner, Cami, Chloe, Billy and Cassidy Harris, Nathan and Makayla Jacobs, Kane, Lillian and Ozzy Hofacker and great great grandchild, Noah McKinney. She was preceded in death by husbands, Henry Schuetz, Sr., Floyd Byrnes, children, Henry Schuetz, Jr., and Carol George and son in law, Robbie Price.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating, burial at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-9 p.m., Wednesday at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid, and 9-11 a.m. at the Church prior to the service. Sympathy may be expressed with donations made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Ovid Healthcare.
