June Collar

Age 74 of Sheridan, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital in Ionia, Michigan. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Sheridan, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
June was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on June 21, 1929, the daughter of George & Marion (Goodwin) Herrick. On February 25, 1948 she married George Collar in Angola, Indiana. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5065. She also enjoyed playing cards and shopping. She resided in Lansing and Crystal area, before moving to Sheridan in 1985. She is survived by her husband, George Collar of Sheridan, MI, 2 daughters, Lin & Michael Shaffer of Holt, MI, Dawn & Douglas Cooper of Ithaca, MI, 1 son, George "Ed" & Connie Collar of Crystal, MI, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
