June Henschell

June Ann Henschell, age 75, of Bannister, MI passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Bay City, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor John James officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 PM. at the Funeral Home.

June was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 6, 1940, the daughter of Fredrick E. and Mabel M. (Miller) Godfrey and spent her childhood in Eureka.  June married Jerry Henschell in 1970.  She previously was married to Lawrence W. Smith.  She resided most of her life in the Ovid Elsie area.

June loved to antique, collect old coins and crochet, especially doilies.  She also was artistic and could see the beauty in everything.  June loved her family above all else.  She had a Christian faith and attended the Living Word Church while living in Ovid.  June had a servant's heart and others always came before herself.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Henschell of Bannister, MI, son Frederick and Lori Smith of Bannister, MI, daughter Lori and Ron Lamb of Olympia, WA, son Walt and Shannon Smith of Munising, MI, step daughter Jerry Sauer of Kansas, 6 grandchildren; Kara, Jesse, Crystal, Eric, Clayton and Mason, 6 great grandchildren, sister Marlowe Allen of Gwinn, MI, brother Gary and Doris Godfrey of Bannister, MI, sister Charlotte and John Olandese of Prudenville, MI.  June is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  June was preceded in death by her parents.
