Karl "Ken" Wahlstrom age 73 of Ovid, Michigan formerly of Detroit, Michigan died Friday, October 22, 2004 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Burial will be held at Duplain Township Cemetery, Clinton County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004, 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Karl was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 28, 1930 the son of Karl Johan & Lisabeth ( Hansen ) Wahlstrom. He graduated from Redford High School & Henry Ford Community College. He resided most of his life in Detroit, MI, moving to the Ovid area in 1991. Karl married Beverly Duncan on February 20, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. She died May 2, 1997
Karl served in the US Marine Corps. He worked as a tool & die maker at Buick City, Flint, MI. He retired from GM in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking and going to the coffee shop.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth "Mike" Wahlstrom of Fowlerville, MI, daughter, Marcia & Steve Fabus of Elsie, MI, son, Mark & Colleen Wahlstrom of Bonnie TX, son, Kirk & Pam Wahlstrom of Owosso, MI, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 sister Barbara & Glenn Sickles of East Tawas, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, sisters; Karin & Lisabeth
Memorials may be made to Ovid Healthcare Center Activity Fund or Hope Network. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
