Age 69 of St. Johns, Michigan died Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan.
Mass of Christian Burial will held Monday, September 8, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. There will also be a Rosary prayed Sunday Evening at 7:00 P.M.
Katherine was born on February 22, 1934 in Harrison, Michigan, the daughter of Howard E. and Rena B. (Prielip) DeBarr. She graduated from Harrison High School with the Class of 1953 and then attended Ferris Institute in Big Rapids. On August 5, 1955 she married Eugene Rensberry in Harrison, Michigan. She was a homemaker and had been a paraplegic, being confined to a wheelchair since 1962. Kathy enjoyed classical music, religion, reading, travel, and her family. She was also an excellent cook and avid bird watcher. She was a member of St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan and had resided in Clinton County since 1957.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Rensberry of St. Johns, MI, 1 daughter, Diane & David Johns of Harrison, MI, 2 sons, Mike & Lucy Rensberry of Lansing, MI, and Victor & Roberta Rensberry of Ladson, SC, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 7 siblings, Margie Henry, Waiva & Charles Goodenow, Lena & Ron Krocker, Ralph & Linda DeBarr all of Harrison, MI, Helen & Paul Peacock of Gaylord, MI, Elsie Claggett of Lansing, MI, Ernie & Mary Jane DeBarr of Reed City, MI, and special friends, Midge & Dale Beavers of Harrison, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Memorials may be made to Clinton County Home Healthcare or Gratiot Community Hospital. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
