Kathryn J. Wells, age 100 a longtime resident of St. Louis, Michigan entered eternal rest Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Schnepp's Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church St. Louis, MI on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10-11 A.M. at the church.

Kathryn was born December 30, 1914 in Jane Lew, Lewis County, West Virginia, the daughter of Thomas R. and Grace (Goodwin) Miller. The family moved to Michigan during her later years in high school. Kathryn attended high school in Mt. Pleasant, St. Louis, and graduated from Alma in 1935. She married John E. Wells at the Methodist parsonage in St. Louis on August 3, 1935, a union that lasted until his death on December 10, 1983. John was the love of her life and together they raised three children. Kathryn was a devoted wife and mother. Her home and family gave her much pride. John and Kathryn resided at 110 N. Clinton St. in St. Louis, and enjoyed the beautiful view of the St. Louis City Park.

Kathryn enjoyed her sewing, knitting, making cookies, sharing recipes with friends, playing cards and dominos. She belonged to several bridge clubs. Kathryn and John enjoyed entertaining friends at cards. They also traveled to Florida and spent time at Houghton Lake. Kathryn was involved in her community and church. She was a past member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Kathryn was also a member of different church committees. She worked briefly at the D and C Dime Store, Bennett's Department Store, Bear Truss, Oswald's State Farm Insurance, Don Sharkey Lawn and Garden Center in downtown St. Louis, and J.C. Penny in Alma.

Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Susanne (James) Vozar of Coldwater, Michigan, Linda (James) Peek of Big Rapids, Michigan, and her son, John T. (Edna) Wells of Melbourne Beach, Florida, 7 grandchildren; Mary Ann Robinson, Nancy Fraser, Mike Vozar, Rich Peek, Andy Peek, Matt Wells, and Katie Liedel, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter Lillian. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John and her sister, Beulah (Miller) Deem.
