Keith Nicholas

Keith LeRoy Nicholas, age 85, of St. Johns, MI passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Merlin Pratt will officiate. Burial will follow at Lowe Cemetery, Essex , MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 13, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Keith was born in DeWitt, Michigan on March 12, 1924, the son of Everett and Loretta (Phinney) Nicholas. He resided most of his life in the DeWitt & St. Johns area. Keith married Ruth Conklin on June 22, 1946 in St. Johns, MI.

Keith was a farmer for most of his life. He also worked as a custodian at Michigan State University and worked at Federal Mogul. He loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Nicholas of 63 years, 2 sons; Scott and Deb Nicholas of St. Johns, MI, Timothy and Bonny Nicholas of St. Johns, MI, 2 daughters; Jean and Duane DeLong of Ithaca, MI, Patricia and Terry Parsley of St. Johns, MI, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, grandson and a sister in infancy.
