Kenneth Roy "Ken" Boroughf age 87, of Wheeler, MI, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating.  Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with an Elks Lodge Service at 7:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Ken was born in Wheeler, MI on January 11, 1930, the son of Johnny and Florence "Flossie” (Little) Boroughf.  Ken married Nelda Lott September 28, 1949 in Alma, MI and resided all of his life in Wheeler.

Ken retired July 1, 1992 from Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 2 after 44.4 years. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing.  Ken also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and woodworking.  But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He will be remembered as a wonderful storyteller.  Ken was active with the Alma Elks Lodge for many years and served as Exulted Ruler.

He is survived by his wife Nelda Boroughf of Wheeler, MI, sons; Duane Boroughf and Lynette Wolfgang of Traverse City, MI, Dennis Boroughf of Saginaw, MI, daughters; Diane Boroughf of Wheeler, MI, Patricia and Michael Smith of Ithaca, MI and special daughter Amy Holton of Holland, 7 grandchildren; Ryan Boroughf, Brenda Nemeth, Kellie and Brent Varney, Maria Ferman, Michelle and Chris Webster, Marcus and Angela Delo and Miranda Csutora, 23 great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Nathan Bergstrom, great granddaughter Mullen Mary Webster, brothers; Gerald and David Boroughf, and special cousin Keith Little.
