Kenneth R. Gager, age 87, of Alma, Michigan passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Strait officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born in Arcada Township, Michigan on December 7, 1927, the son of Cornelius Albert and Anna (Shaffer) Gager. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War with the 120th Engineers 45th Division from 1951-52. Ken married Geraldine Winsor on June 27, 1953 in Maple Rapids, MI. He worked in the Auto Industry for 35 years. Ken loved to travel with his wife, spending time with his family and working & walking on his farm. He will be remembered always for his friendliness and generosity to others. Ken and Geraldine are charter members of Ithaca Wesleyan Church. He resided most of his life in Alma, MI.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine Gager of Alma, MI, 4 children; Robert Gager and Terri Fisk of Phelan, CA, Frederick and Lucel Gager of Alma, MI, Gary and Kimberly Gager of Breckenridge, MI, Connie and Donald VanHall of Grand Haven, MI, 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, brother Levi Gager of Alma, MI, and sister Natalie and Harry Stoner of Alma, MI. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; John, Bernard & Arlo Gager, and sisters; Naomi & Ada.
