Ken was born in Muskegon, MI on January 14, 1945 the son of Wilford and Lucille (Rynearson) Sangster. He spent his childhood in Muskegon Heights and then moved to Alma to work in the Country Club Pro Shop. Ken began to work at Alma Plastics in 1966 and worked there until 1985 when they closed. In 1986 he began working at Alpha Plastics and retired from there in 2011.
On September 28, 1964, Ken married Eunice Jones in Ithaca, MI. They celebrated 45 years of marriage prior to her death in 2010.
Ken's passions were God first, family and then the outdoors. Ken had a passion for all of God's creation and creatures, especially the creatures he could eat. His family loved his stories about his life and adventures. During his life, Ken faced many dark and difficult times. He said that, through it all the Lord kept him strong. It was through his faith and his favorite scriptures Proverbs 3:5-6 and Joshua 1:9 that he found his solace and comfort.
Left to cherish his legacy are his son Kenneth (Sherrie) Sangster of Mt. Pleasant, daughter-in-law Donna Sangster of St. Louis, 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth Sangster, Nicholas Sangster, Samantha Sangster, Alisha (Chad) Gross, and Christina (Jason) McLachlan; 3 great grandsons: Daelyn, Mavryk, and Hendryx Gross, Bill and Margie Sangster of Muskegon, MI, brothers-in-law: John (Jeanne) Jones and Frank Allen; and many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eunice in 2010, son Michael Sangster, grandson Robert Sangster, brother Bob Sangster, sister Marion Robarge and sister-in-law Shirley Allen.
Ken and Eunice were members of First Church of God and request that memorials may be made to First Church of God in their honor. Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
