Kenneth Speerbrecker, age 81, passed away Sunday, January 09, 2011 in Lansing, MI. Kenneth was born October 29, 1929 in Riley Township, Michigan the son of William and Helen (Coffman) Speerbrecker and lived in Riley Township all of his life. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau and a retired machine operator from Sealed Power Manufacturing after 41 A½ years. Ken married Dorothy Margaret Kampfe on October 16, 1952 and she preceded him in death, September 2, 1998.
He is survived by three sons, Rev. Paul (Sue) Speerbrecker of Janesville, WI, Rev. Dr. David (Maribeth) Speerbrecker of Homewood, IL and Stephen (Karen) Speerbrecker of DeWitt and one daughter, Ruth Ann (Paul Kimball) Speerbrecker of Kansas City, MO. Ken is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by his two sons, James and Joseph Speerbrecker.
Funeral services will be, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, burial at St. Peter Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey Heimsoth officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am preceding the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church, School or Building Fund.
